Hello friends, I welcome you all to my blog...
I'm so delighted to participate on this very wonderful contest organized by @okere-blessing in Steem For Lifestyle community.
Is police your friend? If yes back up your answers,if No explain. |
---|
Police is not My friend can not be my friends, someone would ask me why? It is only a slogan or motto of the police, but if we dig deep into the history of Nigerian police, Nigerian police are never their citizens friends, they can only be our friend by taking bribes and in return they help you do whatever you want.
Nigerian police are very corrupt and see citizens as what they can use to get their daily "chicken change".
Nigerian police usually said that, bail is free but when an innocent person is caught and taken to police custody, when the truth is revealed and the person is declared free, he/she will be asked to pay a fine or heavy sum of money before he/she would be let go, I don't know where and how they got that rules and they will say bail is free.
What are police jurisdiction in carrying out their work? |
---|
Nigerian police force was created under the executive arms of government and are all answerable to the inspector general of police, they are all saddle with the responsibilities of punishing offenders, curbing of crime, maintenance of law and orderliness in the society etc, in this regards they have the right to make an investigation, and that can be done base on their geographical jurisdiction.
Although, Nigerian police force has jurisdiction also throughout the entire country to enable them carryout their work effectively, without stress, as such they have different police commands, division and other sub divisions across the 36 states of the country, with a regulated jurisdiction to help them carry out their day-to-day activities without interfering on another.
Mention qualities of a good police. |
---|
Well, the following are some of the qualities of a good police officer:
- A good police officer is the one who's physically fits.
- He/she must have good critical thinking.
- He/she must be able to apply a sound judgement.
- He/she must be problem solving.
- He/she must be able to communicate effectively.
- He/she should have a strong moral character.
And lastly here on my list he/she must have good sense of working ethics.
Have you encountered any injustice by Police? |
---|
Though, I have not encountered any injustice with the Nigerian police force which I'm praying to my creator never to have any issues with them, to be honest, to me Nigerian police hmmmm I don't know about your country, but here in Nigeria they are very unfair and dishonest to their citizens. Once you enter their hands, ah! on God.
Do you agree on dismissal of corrupt police officer? Or other punishment should be given? |
---|
It is advisible that the guilty police officer should be punished appropriately with the offense committed and no officer should go unpunished for any misconduct or misdeed done, that's, it is better to punish the officer than to dismiss that officer. That's my opinion though.
