Hank, a fanatic mineworker, worked tirelessly, his only companion was a small, outdated TV which was broadcasting a persistent AI.
"What's the latest news, AI?"
"Analyzing of mineral compositions, Hank. It's so fascinating."
"This is delicious," Hank muttered sarcastically, wiping sweat from his nose and brow.
"Indeed, the richness of these minerals is astounding., you should try them."
Hank chuckled, shaking his head at the AI's obliviousness. Despite their differences, they had to hang out with another their bond was forged by the old mine.
As the day went on, Hank's respect for the dumb AI grew, admiring its unstopable dedication to its task, much like his own devotion to mining.
"Guess we're not so different after all, AI."
"Well, Hank. We both have our roles to fulfill."
Hank went back to his work, the rhythmic clang of his pickaxe echoing through the tunnels till he peeped through a hole into a cave. What he saw was human. It was for the first time AI's calculations could no longer impress him. Hank fell fanatically in love and didn't care anylonger civilization has come to an end because of AI.
