Well, I had wanted to compile a list of developers and start a discussion some days ago about who I'd be delegating to for Steem's first Developer Delegation Day, but I didn't find time, so I just went ahead and did it. Unfortunately, today's post also needs to be rushed, but I thought it was important to follow-up on this.

If you missed the previous post, where I collaborated with ChatGPT on this idea, here's the summary:

On the 5th of each month, community members will delegate 5 STEEM Power (SP) to a Steem developer of their choice. This regular support helps sustain and incentivize the developers who will become the backbone of the Steem ecosystem.

Today's the 5th, so today I made some delegations. Here they are (from the @remlaps-pb account):

I'd like to compile a table with all the developers I know of, and list the tools that they're developing and their other activities, but so far I haven't had time for that. In lieu of such a comprehensive listing, here are some brief highlights about why I chose these developers:

1.) @moecki

  • He runs a reliable witness node with enough plugins for it to be useful, and his witness has been ranked ridiculously low. Recently, I've been happy to see him advancing in the ranking, but he really should be in the top-20.
  • He is running a test site for @the-gorilla's Condenser improvements.
  • He runs a broadly used bot for sharing rewards from posts with organic commenters (no time to find the name at the moment).
  • He contributes, generously, to general code discussions on the blockchain.

2.) @the-gorilla

3.) @steemchiller

4.) @awitness

  • This one is a risk, and I hope I don't wind up with egg on my face 😉, but I want to help incubate a newly introduced - American - developer. So, despite the anonymity, the 43 reputation and the missing account history, let's see what happens.
  • Here's the account's introduction post. SteemPet looks like a great idea!
  • That's everything I am aware of.

Of course, there are many more deserving developers here, so it's sad that I had to leave others out, but I thought 4 was a good number for the first month.

Thank you for your time and attention.

As a general rule, I up-vote comments that demonstrate "proof of reading".
