"You can't handle the truth" is one of the most famous movie lines ever. And even though it's toward the end, the rest of the movie is well-worth the wait to the climate.

A Marine died on the Guantamo Bay military base, and 2 rookies Marines are accused of the murder. But is IT a murder? A rookie Marine lawyer, who mostly negotiates plea deals, will try to go at the bottom of this.

I was a boy when the movie got out, but I heard a lot about it. And now that I watched it, I can understand why people talked about it.

It's by far Demi Moore's best role. She doesn't look dumb or plastic; she acts like a strong woman in a very male-centered world. I'm surprised she wasn't harrassed more along the way.

Tom Cruise was also excellent, as his typical hot-shot, good looking guy turning things around. But unlike Days of Thunder or Top Gun, he actually uses his brain. And with his short questions, he's able to carry his point very quickly and effectively.

As for Jack Nicholson, he represents everything wrong with top-down command: obey or be imprisoned/ostracised.

Even the final verdict was suspensful despite the trial. Always remember that the Nuremberg defense failed many times...

In short, A Few Good Men is definitely worth your time. The casting is perfect, the acting is Oscar-worthy and sensitive themes - blind obedience vs free will - are talked about is an appropriate manner

Final rating: 4.5/5
