Poetic Film/Television Review: Race Against Time (2000)

In a world where rights are taken away,
And corporations rule the day,
Race Against Time tells a tale,
Of a man fighting to prevail.

In 2018, suicide is deemed a right,
Exploited by those filled with greed and might,
Lifecorps preys on the weak,
Offering luxury in exchange for the meek.

James Gabriel, a father in despair,
Agrees to the deal, but life's not fair,
His son still dies, his heart torn,
As he tries to escape, from being worn.

With a cast that shines so bright,
Eric Roberts and Cary Elwes in the fight,
Geoff Murphy's direction soars,
Despite the limitations, the film roars.

A vision of a dark and dystopian fate,
Where corporations manipulate and hate,
Race Against Time is a warning sign,
Of what could happen in our time.

So heed the message, take heed,
And watch as Gabriel fights the greed,
For in the end, it's a race against time,
To save what's left, in this dystopian climb.
