BEING FIT FOR THE KINGDOM

"SO when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, DO YOU LOVE ME MORE THAN THESE?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs."
John 21:15 (NKJV)
Comment: In the verse 3 of this particular chapter, John 21, Peter made a move to go back into fishing business, and a number of other Disciples also followed him. This shows us the power of influence in the leadership. The decision of Peter was not a good one, but others followed him anyway; being their leader or someone they were looking up to (John 21:2,3).
If a leader made a wrong decision, the tendency is there that a good number of those who are under the leadership of such a person would follow suit—follow him or her in that wrong decision (John 21:3).
Jesus had to come back (John 21:1,4-7). appeared to the Disciples again in order to correct or straighten up Peter and bring him and others to the right path (John 21:1,4-7).
Whatever you may be passing through, your love for God should not allow you to forsake or abandon His work—forsake not your first love (Revelation 2:4,5). In other words, You might encounter challenges in the ministry work, but you should not think or consider to go back into what you left behind to follow Him. God does not lead backward, He would not tell you to abandon His work and go back into what you left behind to follow Him: "BUT JESUS SAID TO HIM, “NO ONE, HAVING PUT HIS HAND TO THE PLOW, AND LOOKING BACK, IS FIT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD" (Luke 9:62 NKJV). Are you still doing the work you are called to do or you have abandoned it? And, If you have not started at all, what are you still waiting for? It is my prayer that you place will not be given to another person in Jesus' mighty name. Peace.
