The Toxicity Of 'Act Your Age': Embracing Happiness Over Comformity

Hello everyone, it's still your fav steemian @megareigns and today I have come with a thought provoking topic which might not really seat well with alot of people. There are certain things we ought to just do but due to what the society will say, we just get to forgo it and let alot of things slide.
Sometimes we want to have fun, we want to explore new things And just live our lives to the fullest but the fear of what people will say just keeps dragging us back, but the question, why?
The whole thing boils down to when they society will say "Act Your Age", This particular statement is what has made people live in delusion and start acting opposite of who they are, they have lived in self-denial to the extent they can't accept the person they have grown up to be.
Some days back, I saw some group of kids playing on the sand and then I saw another guy say he should be within the age of 20 trying to play with these kids and at the same time educating them, someone at the balcony was shouting "why don't you always act your age", it was really one of the most mean statement I have heard in a while, I mean this guy was only trying to have fun, he was trying to help this kids with some school works while associating with them, so why make him feel he is above this? Why make him feel he has outgrown things like this and therefore deny himself the happiness he deserves?
We all deserve to be happy one way or the other, you never can tell what the guy was going through and the only way he felt he could get through those things was to just sit with the kids and relate with them but the society yet again makes him feel he is grown enough to snub kids and just let them do their thing.
I have seen ministers die of depression because they are too spiritual or let's say care more about what church members will say if they see them in a certain spot, thereby crawling into their regular zone and keep doing the regular thing to impress people, this is not the way we should.
If you are out there trying to be happy but scared of what people will say, I will encourage you to consider your happiness over the world, prioritize yourself, the world will adjust with time, don't die of depression because of what the society will think of you. This is my little piece for you friends, stay happy!!.
