A brief summary of your history on Steem.

I became a member of the Steemit platform in July 2020. During that period, the office where I was working had issued us with letters, suspending work till further notice when the COVID-19 outbreak started.

I was introduced to Steemit by @fombae who constantly explained every detail about Steemit to me and he also assisted in creating my account.

I am an inquisitive person and I believe that information is power. This was what made me explore the newcomer community to know more about the platform. I engaged in the achievements program and completed it within a shorter period and was labeled a pro-verified newcomer. This program helped me to better familiarise myself with the platform and improved the quality of the content I created.

During my early days on Steemit, I subscribed to the @steemafrica community where I shared a good number of articles. In December 2020, the Cameroon CR at the time @saxopedia assisted by @fombae decided to create a country community account where all Cameroonian bloggers on Steemit could share their content. That is how I became a member and participated in the growth of the community via the Njangi program by sending 5 SBDs every week to the community account.

Notwithstanding, my inquisitive nature made it possible for me to join the Crypto Academy to learn more about crypto. Through the academy, I was able to create a good number of crypto-related content and participated in seasons 1-6. Even though I was not participating in all crypto assignments due to circumstances beyond my control.

With all the benefits I got from the platform, I decided to talk to friends, family, and colleagues about the platform. Some of them became interested and joined while others were reluctant. This goes with the adage “You cannot take a horse to the stream and force it to drink water.”

I became more committed and consistent on the platform, producing quality content. This made me gain support from both the Steemit team and other users on the platform. Today, I can also support other content creators with my accumulated SP.

Throughout my stay on the platform, I have always supported all initiatives by the Steemit team for the growth of the platform.

Details of specialist or professional skills or expertise you have in ‘real life’

I have worked with several NGOs as a conflict and peace expert in Cameroon.

I am a certified Gender Based Violence (GBV) case manager by the UNFPA. I used this skill to manage several cases of GBV specifically, rape, forced marriages, forced prostitution, physical abuse, and psychological trauma. I offer psychosocial support to survivors.

I have expertise in human rights monitoring, documenting, and reporting. This skill was learned during my master's program in Conflict, Peace, and Security studies.

I am equally a child protection specialist in emergencies trained by UNICEF. I managed cases of child exploitation, neglect, and abuse.

Presently, I am a supervisor with the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development. I supervise developmental activities carried out by the divisional council. I am equally a gender, peace, and security consultant with Oversee Advising Group working with all UN agencies and other international organizations.

What country you live in and what languages you can read fluently?

I am an English-speaking Cameroonian. However, the bicultural nature of the country has made it possible for me to read and understand French fluently. Pidgin English is equally a common language in Cameroon and I speak and write it fluently.

Any subjects you particularly enjoy curating.

With my experience on the platform, I love curating content related to acts of kindness, the diary game, my town in 10pics, and protection-related content on GBV, human rights, and child protection. However, I am an open-minded person, always willing to read new concepts. Therefore I can easily curate all content if it is worth reading through.

I am fully aware of sites to check AI-generated content on the platform. I am willing to continue serving the platform as a community curator for April 2024 and I wish my application is given due consideration.
