Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I share a review of one of the prominent guesthouses in the Buea-South West region of Cameroon.
I am doing this review based on my experience as I lodged there for almost a week for the burial of my late brother. It was my first time lodging at a guesthouse and now I will as well compare it with my experience in a hotel.
That said, Toilcam Guesthouse is located at the ENAP entrance at the clerks quarters in Buea- South West Region of Cameroon. This is like the gateway going to Buea town. The neighbourhood is well-structured with the Buea Council building, the school of penitentiary administration known as ENAP, there is clerks quarters that were constructed during the German rule in Cameroon. Clerks quarters were where all the German clerks resided. Also, in the same neighbourhood, there is a nurses quarters which was also constructed during German rule.

Amenities Available at Toilcam Guesthouse.
It is a home of mini luxury with almost everything one can find abroad. The neighbourhood is well-secured with a police brigade post closer to the building. It is easily accessible at any time of the day or at night. You can drop off and on anytime without being scared of any attack.
The building also has a security officer onboard 24/7. There are CCTV cameras around the building to monitor every movement around the structure. There is an intercom connected from outside to all the apartments in case you have a visitor, you can see from the intercom using the CCTV cameras who is trying to reach out. There is also internet connection 24/7.
There is also a comfortable beds which can accommodate a spouse and kids. The rooms are well-furnished with a dining set, couch, smart TV and a carpet, with air conditioning which you can use to regulate temperature.
It also has an open kitchen well-equipped with a fridge, cooker, pots, plates, etc. You just need to buy your foodstuffs and be rest assured that you will eat anytime you want. It has a heat extractor which helps to extract all the heat and vapour when cooking and leaves your room fresh air and not polluted. The kitchen also has a microwave you can microwave your food.

It has a bath and a toilet separated with a cabinet in the toilet where you can store your toiletries. The toilet has a good mirror where you can check to ensure your facial is done correctly. It has a geyser that provides both cold and hot water.
They also have a cleaner that cleans after two nights, changes the bedding and restocks toiletries.
Apparently, the toilcam guesthouse is furnished in a way that visitors can get a touch of luxury. The location is easily accessible and the neighbourhood is secured.
They have studios and apartments with different prices. You can lodge with the whole family, it all depends on your pocket 🤓🤓.
The Cost of living in the Guesthouse.
With the open studios, the price per night is 35,000frs per night. For close studios, the price is 40,000frs per night.
With the apartments, there are apartments that cost 50,000frs per night and others for 75,000frs per night.
Check-in and Checkout Time.
Normally, check-in is done at 2:00 PM but it all depends on where you are coming from. I had to travel from my hometown by night and arrive in the morning hours. I had to check in as early as 7:00 AM.
With checkout time, there is no negotiation as checkout is done at 12:00 noon. This is to give adequate time for the cleaner to clean the room before others can reserve. Failure to check out on time costs you some extra charges. If you are delayed by an hour to check out, you pay an extra 5,000frs for a penalty and if prolonged for more than an hour, 10,000frs extra will be charged as a penalty.

In sum, I will prefer a guesthouse to a hotel because with a guesthouse you can freely do your things without any stress. Unlike in a hotel that you can not heat your food to eat or better still cook because only the hotel restaurant can cook and you buy. With toilcam, there are contacts of good restaurants around town where you can place an order for food and they deliver to you. I hope with the information I have provided, you can easily lodge at the guesthouse.
