My latest drawing is on toned paper.
When drawing on toned paper, I start by drawing the mid-tones.
That is strange to say because the paper is in mid-tones.
In many cases, using graphite pencils is enough.
In this case, I decided to use darker pencils for the dark values (tones).
I used Staedtler Mars Black.
For the highlights, I used General's white pencil:
On black paper, in some cases, white is the most dominant color I use:
Tip:
If you plan to use a white pencil, make sure to leave empty areas for it.
When drawing with a white pencil on graphite, the white turns gray.
