Digital Art, New Competition (No.28) - On the threshold of Eldorado.

No one knows exactly what the ephemeral golden city of Eldorado looks like which only the lazy did not look for during the gold rush and no one was on the threshold of this city therefore there is always the opportunity to fantasize on this topic.
In my photographic work which is based precisely on a photograph in which I had to see the potential for further work I decided to depict a pioneer who found a golden cave the corridors of which may lead to a golden city.
Trying to find an idea for the next painting I followed in the footsteps of those who before starting work must see the potential of the source material and then it’s a matter of technique.
As the source material I chose a photograph I took during the golden time of autumn when all the foliage of the trees turns yellow.
The photograph was taken at a long shutter speed and with a slight movement of the camera around the axis of the lens.
Likewise Papa Carlo saw some potential in the log that Giuseppe gave him and he was able to carve from this log a wooden boy whom everyone knows as Pinocchio.
I used only the colors that were present in the photograph and selected the darkest spot and copied it using the retouch-print tool in the online photo editor pixlr.com.
Next I began to deform this dark spot drawing a silhouette of a person from it.
I thought that a torch in the hands of a person would illuminate some areas of the cave and some areas would remain in shadow and I began to darken some areas using the darken tool choosing the intensity I needed.
I made the edges of the photo and some areas more blurry.
Finally I added some bokeh spots I think that a person who finds himself in a golden cave will have sparkles in his eyes.
At this point I decided that my work was complete because it conveyed the meaning of what I thought when I saw the original photograph.
