The Moon instead of the Aurora Borealis

Greetings friends.
Yesterday afternoon, my son sent me a message that a recent magnetic storm in the Sun had covered the Earth. It followed that at night we should observe the Northern Lights in the sky.
In the evening, I got my camera ready and started looking at the sky. The sun was sinking towards the horizon, it was getting darker, and the moon appeared in the sky.
But the emerald glow did not appear in the North. This is the second time a similar story has happened. It is possible that the magnetic storm lost all its strength by nightfall because it began at noon.
And the moon was beautiful. I love looking at the moon. Last fall, I bought a specially powerful lens for my camera to photograph the moon and other distant objects. But I still haven't checked it in the case. I can't even explain the reason why I still haven't done it.
What's on the dark side of the Moon?
Friends, thank you for your attention.
