A Winter Wonderland: My 39th Trip to Xinjiang Longing for a snowy winter, I flew over 3,600 kilometers to revisit my beloved Xinjiang.
This time, I traveled with friends, embarking on a self-driving adventure to chase the silent beauty of snow-covered landscapes. From Shawan to the divine hot springs, the journey was filled with surprises at every turn.
The pristine white snow blanketed the earth, creating a tranquil world that felt almost otherworldly. The contrast between the icy wilderness outside and the promise of warmth at the hot springs was irresistible.
This trip marked my 39th visit to Xinjiang, a place that never ceases to amaze me. No matter how many times I come here, there’s always something new to discover—a hidden view, a unique experience, or simply a different way to appreciate the timeless beauty of this region. Xinjiang in winter has a magical charm.
The roads, lined with snow-laden trees, seemed to stretch endlessly into the serene horizon. We paused frequently along the way to soak in the breathtaking scenery, capturing fleeting moments of nature’s artistry. The quietness of the snowy plains, interrupted only by the crunch of snow underfoot, offered a rare sense of peace.
Traveling in Xinjiang is more than just exploring a destination—it’s about embracing the journey, savoring the unexpected, and rediscovering yourself in the process. For me, this trip wasn’t just about chasing snow; it was about reconnecting with a place I deeply love and sharing its wonders with those who journeyed with me. Here’s to Xinjiang, and here’s to the countless adventures still waiting to unfold.
