What is plagiarism?

This is an act of using someone else's ideas or words in creating a content without proper crediting it original owner.
In other word is like taking something that does not belong to you without acknowledging the owner and claiming to be originally yours.

Types of plagiarism

  • Direct plagiarism.
  • Accidental plagiarism.
  • Mosaic plagiarism.
  • Self plagiarism.

Direct plagiarism: this is when you use a source data word to word without making any changes and claim to be yours. Example; directly copying everything from someone and paste on a page without any sourcing or referencing.

Accidental plagiarism: this occurs when the writer is not willingly doing plagiarism but fails to follow proper citation method. Example; what you written look exactly as another person work.

self- plagiarism: going back to your previous work and using them to create contents. Example; copying your work and write in another place, this is refers to as self plagiarism.

Proof of Brain concept

Since the blockchain rewards users post by producing original content that is from your brain.
It is recommended to give citation or source to any of your content that consist of others work.

Basic knowledge on producing and sharing original/quality content:

As a steemit user, to produce and share quality post with original content. Plagiarised and copy/paste materials including images that is not free is not original content. In this case we need to cite our sources be it texts or image.

Embracing the existing steem community etiquette

This is to get to know the social ethics of existing steem community, to abide by the rule that govern all users.

What can users post to steemit

Steem is open to all users to post legal content that complies with their terms of service. Users can post anything of their choice be it phrase, quote, blog, anecdote, photos, videos, memes, songs and more.
Just be creative.
