Enjoying the Tet Fireworks over the Han River in Danang

Hello Friework loving friends!

The other day I headed out to see the fireworks display along the Han River in celebration of Tet, the Lunar New Year festival here in Danang. I arrived to the walking bridge around 9 pm when it was still quiet and devoid of crowds. I walked along the bridge and looped around to the Dragon Bridge and over to where a musical concert was being held.

The concert was enjoyable to watch while waiting for the fireworks. With about an hour to go before midnight, the scheduled start time, I walked back to the walking bridge to stake out a good spot to view the show. As showtime approached, more and more people flooded in.

Right at midnight, three fireworks went off signaling the start of the 15-minute long extravaganza. The fireworks were beautiful as they exploded over the iconic Han River bridges with colorful sparks raining down. However, I was positioned downwind and some residual ash drifted onto spectators, getting into my eyes. It was a nuisance but didn't dampen the festive spirit.

After the fantastic show, crowds cheered and went off to enjoy late-night Tet festivities. I grabbed a bite to eat before heading home for some rest after the long and fun night.

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!
