Hello friends of Healthy Steem, I hope we are all making sure we live healthily everyday.
I live in the southern part of Nigeria and I see a lot of malnourished children daily. Most times this kids don't have food to eat at all and this will make them look ill or weak. I feel sorry for them every time I see them, and want to help but can't do that everytime.

Malnutrition in children is one of the problems to tackle to help the children to grow very well.

The food we eat should contain the classes of food that will make our body Healthy. When these classes of food are deficient in our diet, we experience Malnutrition. We need Protein, Carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, water and fats and oil in our diet. When our diet is more concentrated on a particular kind of food, we may develop diseases caused by malnutrition

There are a lot of problems children can face due to malnutrition and it might even lead to death. Malnutrition is a serious issue with children and shouldn't be taken lightly. Malnutrition has a lot of effects on children and here are the following effects they can face:

Undeveloped Growth: one of the problems faced due to malnutrition is impaired or undeveloped Growth. Because of the deficiencies in diet that can make children grow, this will cause the child to be stunted or grow very late.

Diseases: Malnutrition exposes a child's body to diseases such as kwashiorkor, marasmus, night blindness etc. Children are exposed to the following diseases and even more due to malnutrition.

A weak Immune system: Malnutrition can also cause the immune system of a child to be weak. And this should be avoided.

Brain Growth is impaired: Malnutrition also affects the functioning of the brain. Great nutrition makes a child smarter and brilliant.

There are a lot of factors that can lead to Malnutrition and there are:

Lack of Education: I myself didn't have a great knowledge of nutrition the way I have today. A lot of people don't know the right kind of diet to eat daily and this will cause malnutrition. When someone is ignorant of the right food to eat, they will most likely eat anything that comes their way.

Poverty: Poverty is one of the great causes of malnutrition. When there is no money power, children might not have the luxury of eating well diet foods.

Natural disasters and war: When there is natural disaster and war, there will be scarcity of food, causing people to eat whatever they see. This will cause malnutrition.

There are a lot of factors that can cause malnutrition of which are not mentioned in this post.

How can we prevent a child from these issues?

Preventing Malnutrition is not only a general issue for the government alone, individuals, parents, have a great role to play in making sure children are fed properly.

Ways we can prevent children from malnutrition are: Providing them a complete diet, good water and making sure that they are disciplined with the way they eat.

Children should also be educated on the right food to eat and they can eat balanced diet.

You can give suggestions to improve health care of children in developing countries?

For developing countries who are trying to end malnutrition in children, the government should provide great medication for the children. The primary healthcare should be refurbished and rehabilitated to make sure children get good medical attention.

Medication like supplement that will aid digestion should also be made available to the children.

Malnutrition should be tackled from top to bottom in children. The best should be given to these children.

Thanks for going through my post, hope you learned!

I invite @bossj23, @imohmitch and @davidmarkgeorge
