Hello creative friends in the Shine with Steem community, it's great that I can participate again in Week 4. May we all always be in a healthy and happy state, so that we can enjoy life much better than before.
Best regards to Old House @anailuj1992, have a nice day.
As a preface to this post, I start first with a brief explanation of what didactic games are. As we all know, children cannot be separated from playing and learning. Both of these are the beginning of them learning something in their own way, and parents direct and guide them to continue discovering new things as part of that learning, including me as a teacher. In achieving these goals, creativity is needed to encourage three basic development processes in children.
The three developmental processes in such children include :
- cognitive (this is related to thinking, perception, and understanding)
- Affective (related to feelings, emotions, and mood swings)
- Psychomotor (related to physical skills and body movements)
One way to encourage and help early childhood development is by learning while playing. In this way, we, parents or teachers, will provide benefits for our children so that they can increase children's creativity, and indirectly we have opened space for children to express their imagination happily and without limits.
With useful materials, come up with a didactic game of your choice that you want to use to teach a child from 4 to 12 years old. At the end, introduce the educational game to the child and play with it. |

As in this post, where I invite my children to create together and do didactic games together. On this occasion, I invite 2 of my children, the age of the children I invite in the making, and this didactic game is :
- Salman is 7 years old and is my third child.
- And Faris is my fourth child who is 5 years old.
The didactic game that we will make and play is "Smart Wheel", a didactic game made with simple materials and useful for children's play tools that have educational value in it.
Describes the creative process step by step, including illustrations. Do not forget to share the materials used and the final result. 3 points |

To make a didactic game, simple materials are needed that are around us, the main ones are the following :
- A sheet of cardboard of medium size (customized).
- Three sheets of HVS paper.
- Markers.
- 2 pieces of tacks.
- Lem.
- Ruler.
- Scissors.
- Colored pencils.
- Glue Gun.
Now let's go to the stage of creating this "Smart Wheel :
The first step is to make a circle pattern on cardboard, this circle pattern we make as many as 2 pieces of cardboard circle pattern with a size of 13 diameters. As below picture :
The second step, and glue the HVS paper circles to the cardboard circles together, using the available glue, as below :
The third step is to make a line cut in the two HVS paper using a marker. Line pieces are made of as many as 8 pieces of each HVS paper, like this :
The fourth step is to glue the HVS paper circle onto the cardboard circle, using the available glue. Then color two HVS paper circles on each line cut, with different colors. Like this :
The fifth step is to take the remaining 1 HVS paper to make letter cards by the names of objects around us, try not to say too long. For example, chairs, tables, cabinets, and others. Then cut out the card to the size of a square cut out the middle, and paste in each part of the circle. Like this :
The sixth step is to stick the letter wheel to the top of the cardboard rectangle, to stick it use a thumbtack in the center. After pasting, make sure the letter wheel can rotate. Paste the wheels of his letters on the left and right sides of the cardboard. as below picture :
Do not forget to give the glue gun on the back of the Thumbtack, so as not to be dangerous when played.
Seventh step, make one last 'Smart wheel" piece in The Shape of a rectangle with the size adjusted to the letter wheel. Then paste it in the middle of the cardboard, and each end is on top of the letter wheel, like this :
Also, use a small size cardboard for a support for the smart box, and stick it using a glue gun, making 2 or 3 levels, so that the letter wheel easily rotates.
Finally, try turning the two letter wheels, if they can rotate, then the "smart wheel" can already be used. Like this :
Explain the purpose of the didactic game what are you describing, what do you want to teach with the game? 1 point |

Well, now before we play with a didactic game tool called" smart wheel", I will explain what is obtained from playing the game tool.
Media "Smart Wheel" is a children's game tool in the form of a circle, resembling two wheels with letters that form the words we want. The purpose of creating and playing this "smart wheel" is to improve the reading ability of a child or student, as one of the ways to develop cognitive abilities. If we look at what is obtained from playing "Smart Wheels", besides being interesting and also a concrete learning medium, it is also very easy to play and understand, and much more interesting to play.
Besides that, through this "Smart Wheel"Game, children or students can also help children and students in improving their reading skills, such as reading vowels and syllables. Interesting and fun isn't it?
In your own words explain how to play it, 1 point |

Then how to play!, As I said earlier how to play her is pretty simple. I will explain one step at a time.
- Each child can turn the" smart wheel " left and right once.
- When turning the letter wheel to the left, each child must make sure that one part of the letter they choose is right in the middle smart box of the "smart wheel" for example he chose -DO-.
- Then the child just looks at the letter wheel to the right, with the choice of the combination of letters that make up the noun. Example: once the left box has been selected -DO-, then to become a noun, we must select the letter - OR- on the right. Thus forming the word-DOOR -.
- And continue to be continued by one of the children again, until they can find many names of objects produced from the combination of letters on the letter wheel.
Does the child like the game?Is he bored or entertained?Do you think these games contribute to the child's learning? Tell us about your experience and the experience of children playing with such educational games. 3 points |

Does the child like the game?
Yes, of course, this is not just playing but also makes them curious about what other nouns they can find from the combination of letters on the two-letter wheels. So every time they find a combination of letters into a noun, they always shout "smart". Moreover, this game is played by my children at an early age, so it attracts their interest and curiosity.
Is he bored or entertained?
Yes, of course, they are very entertained with the game we played together. Even my children can spell as well as read the nouns they find. This is a new experience for them, not just learning, but also making a new experience where they can work together to make this game with simple materials.
There is a point where they will get bored after finding all the words available on the" smart wheel", but I can modify the words contained in the letter wheel on the" smart wheel " game.
Do you think these games contribute to the child's learning?
Yes, it can certainly be an alternative game that contributes to the learning of children or students. Because this becomes an exercise while playing to improve their cognitive abilities.
Don't forget to upload a photo or video of the child playing with the educational game. 2 points |
