Week 53

My fellow Steemians

It was a busy week.

“It is good to be busy. It keeps you out of mischief.”
This is what my dad told us kids when we were complaining that we were busy. Well, dad, there was certainly no time for mischief this week.
March 26 marks my dad’s birthday. Maybe that is why I am thinking about him this morning.

Events or other activities

Steem For Ladies

With four contests running in the community, 200 entries for week 4 of SEC16, and a moderator short it was a very busy week for us ladies. There was indeed no time for mischief.

Don’t miss this week’s SEC 16: WK5 contest: “My... Romeo and Juliet”

My duties:

  1. Curation and verification of posts on my day of duty as well as filling in on the days of others
  2. Educating and monitoring 7 moderators
  3. Validating MOD verifications
  4. Verifying new members
  5. Booming posts submissions and community voting
  6. Taking care of community notifications and comments
  7. Writing of 4 community posts
  8. Monitoring and running of community contests
  9. Lending a helping hand to members of the community
  10. Approval of moderator contests

General:

This week, support was given via WhatsApp and Discord to nine Steemians. The question mostly asked, "Why am I not getting support from SC01 and SC02?"

My advice is to forget about what others are doing or receiving. Enjoy Steemit. It is when you are enjoying it that it all falls into place. Make sure that you post to the best of your ability and improve with each post.

Various Steemians were also helped on the platform.

Africa:

Supporting and helping my fellow Steemians from Africa is still a priority for me.

Communities

No advice was given to any of the communities.

Curator

No advice was given to any of the curator.

Issues encountered:

  • Lack of engagement

Last week, I mentioned the lack of engagement in the Steemit Engagement Challenge. It was the same this week. I saw so many quality posts with less than the required five comments. To crown it, comments consist of only a few words.
I want to urge Steemians to support their fellow Steemians with good comments that are relevant to the topic.

  • Next, rules.

Boy of boy! I don’t know if Steemians are just too eager to write posts or if they are too lazy to read. The rules of communities and contests are not followed.

It is sad to see good quality posts that cannot be taken into consideration as winners because of this.
Steemians, take the time to read the rules. It will only take you a couple of minutes compared to the post that takes 2 to 3 hours to write.

See you next week!
