  1. Spain – Jamón Ibérico
    Iberian ham has been produced in Spain since Roman times. Nowadays, it’s made from free-range pigs bred in Dehesas oak groves. Iberian ham is incredibly flavorful due to its diet of acorns and its lengthy curing process (12-18 months). There are two main varieties of Spanish ham: Jamón Serrano and Jamón Ibérico de Bellota.

    Nothing screams Italy more than a light, airy slice of thin-crust pizza. Pizza Napoletana is especially revered in Italy because it adheres to strict standards for ingredients and preparation methods. The dough can only be made with wheat flour, must be kneaded by hand, left to rise for 48 hours, given room temperature fermentation, and topped with San Marzano tomatoes (grown in volcanic soil near Mount Vesuvius) before baking at 925 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Tacos al Pastor are spit-roasted on a vertical rotisserie and served with onions, cilantro, and pineapples. This famous dish is of Lebanese origins introduced to Mexico in 1910 by Lebanese immigrants who traveled through Mexico City during their journey to America.
