Onboarding Newbies: Mentorship and Promoting Steemit
4 comments
Hello friends,
It's another moment to reflect on my monthly/bi-monthly activities, especially on my recruitment drive, to get more users onboarded and engaged with the platform. The need to promote steemit cannot be overemphasized, hence one of my drives is to get users reengineered once again in my neighbourhood. A promise I made during the national meetup to help build up my city base steemians.
For this period under review, I was able to onboard four (4) users into the platform. But my observation has partly dropped here. Onboarding new users directly on the platform has become a little problematic here as one has to try countless times without success as user local numbers no longer pass the verification/authentication process. I hope the team @steemcurator01 / @steemcurator02 resolves this bug.
However, I got these users onboarded using a third-party platform like the @justyy interface. Though a lot easier through these when conversant with them, the interface is a lot more complex to discern for amateurs. Let's get started with my user's profiling.
The first in my user list is @chommygift. This happens to be one of a kind since her onboarding. At one time, I asked if she has participated in any platform of this nature due to her being one step ahead each time we have a section to retrain. Always ready to learn, an undergraduate in one of the universities in the southern region, and a professional hairstylist.
Since her introduction post, she has made 20 other publications cutting across different communities. Most interestingly, she was able to participate in some of the learning challenges (SLC), which also helped in building her stronger with the required resilience. A fantastic learner who reads and understudies other users for best practices and user-platform engagement.
The second on my list is @tykay019. This is another energetic young lady who has a zeal to learn, though at her own pace. I don't expect everyone to be like the first user with all the fantastic attributes. This user has put in a good effort to stay afloat, and I am collaborating in every best way to see she becomes the firebrand.
She's a graduate from one of our national open universities, intelligent and business-incline despite her business engagements that bring some levels of distractions, she is still able and willing to push through. Since her introduction post, she has a count of other 5 publications made and this also cut across other communities. We hope to double up on this and preferably with more quality content
The third on my list is @gracyc. I could remember the countless times she desired to join in hearing about steemit. She quickly got interested and desired to be part of the platform. She is a good, knowledgeable fellow who is also skilled in her pastries and bakery work. She works at a state polytechnic in my city, precisely in their food and nutrition department, where she anchors on the aforementioned skill.
She joined the Steemit platform 12 days ago and since her introduction post, has made 2 other publications. For us, the learning process has just begun. The target is to have at least 3 active publications in the blog every week.
The 4th user and last on my list is @gerrynoel. My youngest in the team and very brilliant in handling tech. From his intro, you can see he's already exposed to the crypto world. He is still in the secondary school stage of his educational career but is quite promising to be a firebrand when fully mentored.
I remembered how he had anticipated joining the steemit platform as he continued to kick all through during school time. But we assured him of being onboarded once he was done with exams. He was onboarded 2 days ago and is still very fresh to kick-start. Though we are waiting for the required handshake from the greeters, this user may likely continue blogging pending the greeter's handshake.
I want to specially thank @goodybest and @heriadi for their responses when needed.
Note: Images used were captured using my phone during all these trainings.
