Normally, I like kids, and a comic/playful lifestyle of mine do attract children to me wherever I go. I'm operating a private business which I don't observe public holidays. The only day I have time to stay at home is Sundays where my neighbor's children will always come to my house and spend more time playing with me. I had already made up my mind to celebrate this year's Christmas Day at home with my neighbors so that I can also spend time with their kids.
25th December being the Christmas Day is always a magical time for some Christian denominations all around the world. On that special day, people's eyes sparkles with excitement and anticipation as they wake up to a morning filled with joy, love, and of course, gifts.
🎄HOW I CELEBRATED🎄
Three weeks ago, I met with the other 2 of my neighbors as we live in the same compound. We agreed and contributed some money that will be used to buy life goat and share among ourselves on the Christmas Day since it deeply involves more of cooking of different dishes.
🎄IN THE MORNING🎄
The festive atmosphere was pleasant, smooth and calm, filled with the sound of carols, laughter, and the aroma of delicious dishes from the neighborhood. My son and my neighbor's kids were eagerly waiting for cooking/sharing of foods as the key part of their Christmas celebration. Christmas Day is one of the biggest day for children.
While my wife who was accompanied with my neighbors' wives went to the market to buy food stuffs and the goat that was slaughtered in the market and shared in 3 equal portions for my family and the remaining 2 families, I quickly went to Church and observed a brief devotion with my creator. Then I came back home to stay with the children.
My family was to cook the Christmas food in the morning while the other 2 of my neighbors took their turns in the afternoon and evening respectively.
When my wife came back from the market, we started preparing food immediately. We decided to cook Rice & Stew with Fried Ripe Plantain. I was warshing our portion of the goat meat while my wife was preparing other food stuffs in the kitchen.

By 9am, food was ready. My family and my two neighbors' families came together for a specific Christmas meal. It featured an array of mouth-watering dish. Food and drinks were shared to everybody and kids savoured the taste of their favourite meal. We enjoyed the warmth and love that filled the air.
🎄IN THE AFTERNOON🎄
After the morning meal, the rest of the day was filled with fun activities. Some people attended church service, some visited their friends/relatives, some were watching Christmas movies and outdoor games. I did not go out, I stayed at home all through and played with the kids. I gave them my time to the fullest and they were so excited to be with me.
By 3pm, everybody was back to the compound. We all gathered again. This time was the turn for the other of my neighbor to serve their Christmas meal. They cooked Pounded Yam and White Soup, full of goat meat, it was so delicious.
Afternoon gathering was massive in a grand style as the DJ was on ground for music entertainment. We switched to what I would called The real Christmas Party. We ate, drank, danced and shared memories in love and unity.
Christmas Day is a time for love and creating special moments. We celebrated our own to our satisfaction. Truly, Love is a beautiful thing.
🎄IN THE EVENING🎄
As the day came to a close, the last family took their turn of serving Christmas food. They cooked Goat Meat Peppersoup Rice. The meal was second to non. Carefully cooked and was served to everybody.
