My Neighborhood Watch #73 - Reporting Events Around us

The University of Uyo, Nigeria, holds her combined 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremony. The ceremony is ongoing in the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

On the 7th of November, 2024, graduates with a first degrees were celebrated. I was live at the event because a Steemian celebrated on this day.

On the 8th of November, 2024, graduates with MSc (master's degree) and postgraduate diploma (PGd) were celebrated by the academic senate.

Today, 9th of November, 2024, graduates with doctorate degrees (PhD) are celebrated. Let me now give you a review of the event on the 7th of November.

Review:

• At the ceremony, the graduates match into the ceremonial hall as they are welcomed with a guard of honor.
• Everyone present at the venue stood and sang the national anthem and the university anthem
• The moderator opens the occasion by introducing dignitaries, the academic professors in the university, and the vice chancellor
• speeches were given by the various faculties by their representatives (professors)
• The history of the university was given. How it began from college to affiliate university before it was accredited.
• Awards were given to the best-graduating students from various faculties. And the overall best-graduating student with about 4:89 CGPA was given thirty thousand Naira by the university
• photo session by the graduates. The graduants took various photos with those who celebrated them. I sensed the happiness on their as they took the photographers
