• A squirrel is a small rodent, tho medium sized can also be seen. It's covered in fur with a long tail which helps it to keep rain, wind or cold off itself. The tail also helps it to cool off when hot by pumping more blood through it's tail. It has large eyes with an excellent vision. Squirrels can be of different colours ranging from brown, white or black.

• Squirrels can be found in America and Africa and are usually seen in the bush, I'm an open field, or around houses. They are not aggressive but may bite just to defend themselves if they are harmed or about to be harmed.

• Squirrels are herbivorous. They eat seeds, nuts, insects and even small vertebrate. They love fruits. They rely on foods rich in protein , carbohydrates and fats. Adult squirrels can live between 5 to 10 years.

• Squirts make a high pitched chirp when excited. They bark when they feel threatened and whistle when happy.

• Squirrels are always found to be chewing but you can't blame then for this. This is because they have incisors (front teeth) that are always growing and if they don't chew on something, their teeth will grow into their lower jaw.

When a female squirrel finds a baby squirrel, she feeds it before trying to find out if the baby squirrel has a mother or father alive.

If she is unable to find its parents after 3 days of investigation, she adopts the baby squirrel as hers. So the female squirrel is a mother at heart.

Female squirrel kisses the male squirrel when he brings her food.

The male squirrel makes love advance to the female by gifting her the beautiful roses and seeds.

Squirrels shape plant composition by taking seeds which are their main source of nutrients and burying them, they usually forget where they buried these seeds and the seeds will decompose and later on die, then grow as a plant, so in other words, Squirrels do the work of a farmer, which is planting seeds. Without them, I think some seeds will become extinct as man eats more than he plants.
