Lovely day to you all in this wonderful community. I hope you all are doing great. Today I am writing this post to notify you all in this community about my entry in this DIY contest hosted by @benton3.

The aim of this contest is to draw an elephant. Today I drew an elephant and I'm glad to highlight the steps I took in completing this drawing today.

Before I begin I would like to invite @wizzyboy3, @fortwis and @mesola to this lovely contest. As I have invited them all I really hope for them to participate in this contest.

To begin I would like to talk about elephants their diet and anything related to them including there benefits to man.

Elephants are the largest living land mammals. An African bush elephant may weigh up to 6000kg, and it's brain 5.4kg. An elephant may live up to 70 years of age. The diet of this large mammals may include shrubs, twigs, leaves and fruits like melon and pineapple. Elephants are normally found in the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and Asia. The are normally found in deserts, savannas, grasslands, and forests.
Elephants normally use tusks to battle predators and protect themselves. They also use their tusks to dig and gather food. And lastly the tusks of an elephant protects the trunks which is another vital organ.

Benefits to man
The tusks of elephants is a source of ivory. Ivory may be used to make Piano keys, needles, buttons, buckles, spear tips etc. Elephants help in enhancing the ecosystem of the savannah. In some countries like Asia elephants are used as fighting platforms in warfare.

So my drawing begins. First here are the tools that I used to draw

1. A sheet of paper
2. Pencil
3. An eraser

Step 1
Firstly I began by drawing it's head which consisted of it's long nose, it's tusks, eyes and it's large ears and this was the outlook of the appearance 👇

Step 2
After drawing it's head, I continued by drawing it's two front legs. After drawing it's two legs in front, I drew it's stomach. This was the result 👇

Step 3
After drawing it's two front legs and it's stomach, I drew it's body and one of the two back legs. As you can see below 👇

Step 4
After drawing it's body, I drew it's tail at the bottom of the elephant and I completed the drawing of the hind legs at the rear this was the outcome 👇

In conclusion
It's been a delight in participating in such a contest which has allowed me to express myself which is why I would like to thank @benton3 for organising such a lovely contest. I also hope I have delivered useful information regarding elephants. I hope you all love it. Thank you and have a beautiful day.
