Just a warm and cordial greetings to all my fellow steemians colleagues and friends around the world, how are you all doing today I hope you are all fine and healthy as well as having alot fun and enjoying this beautiful and lovely moments of November with your friends and loved ones, I remain your colleague and friend @john247 from #Nigeria it's always my pleasure and am so delighted having you in my blog, this week am opportune and glad to participate in this amazing contest organized by @solayman titled; Animal husbandry

Before I proceed to the contest hints and questions I will like us to know the meaning of animals husbandry as stated in the contest theme. Animal husbandry can be define or explain in a layman understanding as farming system that involves the breeding and keeping of farm animals to produce food.
It can also be defined as a branch of agriculture concerned with animals that are raised for meat, milk, and other essential products.

Do you have animal husbandry in your country? What kind of animals are seen to be more?

Nigeria my country is blessed with different domestic animals which most people involves in animal husbandry which is very common in almost all the states here, which is indeed a good and benefiting job only if you know what you are doing,
In my country cattles which are large, domesticated, bovid ungulates widely kept as livestock is the most populated animals that are mostly and majorly found in Yobe state, Gombe state, and Zamfara State, that's to say the northerners are the ones with the most cattles rearing and breeding in the country, which has helped a lot in provision of milk, meat, foreign exchange as well as increasing the national income of my country Nigeria to a high level, they are other benefits of cattles I didn't mentioned here.

Which animal is more profitable to raise? Give your reasoning.

Livestock farming as a whole is very profitable business that many people has been making a lot of income from it but that is if only you know fully well what you are doing and the aim you plan to achieve, I will say out of experience animals that is more profitable to raise for me is Pigs.

Pigs is a good domestic animal to rear which can also be refer to as swine or hogs, pigs are omnivores mammals with short bristle and tick skin, a male pig is called sare, while the females pigs are called sow, and the baby pigs are called piglets.

Despite all the dirtyness and irritating body there are still many advantages and benefits of rearing them which includes......

• It is very fast in reproduction, most species of pigs are very fast in reproduction that it can reproduce three times in a year if properly taken care of that feeding and medicating them regularly
• pigs generates income mostly when we are rearing and breeding them for commercial purpose this will help boost the income of the owner which will help him in many ways
  pigs provides us with meat which is very rich in vitamin
• pigs are able to survive on low quality feeds and are resistant to some diseases that is to say low income are required in maintaining and taking care of pigs and they can hardly get sick
• pigs are self-sufficient, obedient, easy to rear and train just like dog.

What methods will you adopt to be profitable in animal husbandry? Write at least five.

There are different methods you can adopt to be profitable in animal husbandry such as....

• By providing a good and conducive shelter space for your animals will help them reproduce well.
• Regular and daily cleaning of animals house is very essential because it keeps diseases and illness far from them.
• proper and sufficient feeding will also helps them to grow faster and strong as well as even boost their immune system.
• clean and hygienic water supply to the animals will keep them hydrated and protect them during hot and harsh weather condition.
• Always remember to apply and give them treatment in due time to help treat the ill ones and protect them from diseases.

How do you think animal housing should be?

For pig farming to be complete and effective you have to try by all means to avoid the following, inadequate housing and space, poor nutrition, neglecting biosecurity measures, inefficient breeding practices, waste to surrounding neighborhoods, polluted environment and insufficient feeding.
