It was a Saturday and I had plans, lot of plans to accomplish that day. As a mother of 4, it's not really easy coping with work and at the same time managing a home. Saturdays are days I feel I'm somehow free but that's the most busiest of days. This is how I navigated my day.

I had a burial to attend that day and it was the burial of a family member of my colleague. This was sad though but we had no choice than to help the dead bury their dead. The funeral was to be held in a distant local government area which I followed my friend who drove using her car.

In getting to the burial venue, there were a lot of stirred up emotions. At first I thought we were mistaken as the place looked like a real wedding but no, I wasn't mistaken. It was a burial, an expensive burial of a great man. Fleets if expensive range rovers, lexus, Lamborghini and Benz models of cars filled the arena. I had this second thought in mind if it were a politician that died but it wasn't.

The rumour that filled the air was about the coffin. I was like, what about the coffin? I heard a rumour that the coffin used to contain this dead man was worth 40 Million naira. I was like, ahhh. Why would such money be used to buy a coffin that's not even glass and would later be eaten by termites.

This was the talk of the burial that day and nothing much. The burial started in earnest and I joined my colleagues in a canopy kept for nurses and nurses alone. I was so happy reuniting with my colleagues who got posted in different places.

The coffin was carried about for 30 minutes saying they want the body to lay in peace without disturbance and that they wanted God to accept him into his storehouse. I met the bereaved and consoled her in words as it's only her that knows how she's feeling. I may not know how she feels at that moment because I haven't felt such before and the man has been a strengthening aid to her and us all.

It was painful hearing he's going to die. We just had hope that someday, we'll get to see him again during the resurrection. After the burial, we were served and then departed to our various homes. I entered the market to purchase things for the family and due to my busy schedule, I was unable to post this earlier enough.

I'm glad I have the opportunity now to share it.
