The Dangers Of Keeping Bad Company

"Evil communication corrupts good manners". This age old saying is true, and it hasn't lost its relevance in our present time. Let me highlight and explain some of the dangers of keeping bad company in school. A bad company is anybody or group of persons with attitudes, behaviors,habits, manners, lifestyles that are contrary to good morals codes or conduct. Take for instance, lying, stealing, improper code of dressing, fornication, unseriousness, alcoholism, lackadaisical attitude to studies, thuggery and the rest of them.

Associating yourself with such a person or company with kind of behaviors could cause the following; Firstly, you will have a change of attitude from good to bad. There will be a gradual decline in good behavior and such a person will become what he wasn't before. For example, a brilliant and intelligent student becomes poor in his academics as a result of keeping company with unserious and lazy students.

Another point is that there will be a dent on your image. A student with good behavior has a good image and name. When such a person mingles with un serious and vain people, he dents his image and reputation. For instance, an early riser or a honest boy mingles with a lackadaisical person, he will instantly start lying as a result of bad company and becomes known as a lier. Moreover, keeping bad companies would generally affect the health of such student, academics, future and destiny.

In Summary, it is highly dangerous to keep bad companies and should be discouraged with a heavy- hand by parents, guardians, teachers, schools and all stakeholders concerned with the future of our students.
