I hope you are all doing well! Today, i wanted to share my Sunday with you which turned out to be quite a fulfilling day. It was my second class of the IT course but so much more happened that made the day feel productive.
My day started early as usual at 5:30 am. I woke up did ablution and offered the Fajr prayer. There is always something peaceful about those quiet early morning hours where the world seems calm. After finishing my prayer i sat down and recited the Holy Quran. This is one of my favorite parts of the day it grounds me, calms my mind and gives me a fresh perspective to start the day on the right note.
At 7:30 am i started getting ready for my IT class. I quickly gathered my things and made sure i had everything i needed for the day ahead. I left the house by 8 am.
I arrived at class around 8:45 am. As i reached the gate i saw the gate was already opened and line of girls were heading towards the classroom. There is always the nice buzz of energy in the air right before the class where everyone is preparing themselves mentally for the day.
I joined the line and started walking through the path as it was 5 mins walk from the gate to class with a sense of anticipation for what the day had in store.
When i finally entered to the classroom, the first thing i did was punch in my attendance card. It is kind of routine now and it is neccessary to mark my presence for the day. By 9 am the teachers walked in and we all settled down to start the lecture. Today’s topic was challenging and exciting and i was eager to learn more. The lecture was informative and the teacher made sure to explain everything clearly which really helped me learn the concepts quickly.
After an hour of theory we finally moved on to the practical part. This is always my favorite part of the class because it is when we actually get to apply everything we have learned. We powered on our laptops and started working on some coding exercises. I managed to complete most of them but a few definitely tested my skills. There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of finally resolving an error after struggling with it for a while. That achievement is unbeatable.
Then at 12 pm the class was over. Time had flown by so fast.I turned off my laptop and packed up my things, feeling good about what i had learned that day. Then i called my father who was already waiting for me at the gate and headed to the gate.
On our way home my father mentioned that he needed to stop at my Phopo’s house for some work. Her house is near the Governor House so it was not far. We made a stop at her house, staying just long enough to greet her and for some work. It was only a five minute visit.
When we reached home i freshened up and spent some time scrolling through my phone, catching up on social media and replying to a few messages. After a while, the early wake up caught up with me so i decided to take a nap. Let me tell you, that nap was heavenly, i was out like a light and slept so peacefully.
Then at around 5:30 pm my sister came into the room and waking me up with the words “Wake up, come eat kachoris” Now as much as i love food, i was in such a deep sleep that i was not ready to get up but when she jokingly said she would eat my kachoris if i didn’t get up, that was enough motivation to get out of bed. I washed my face and joined her in the kitchen and we sat down to enjoy the freshly made kachoris together. There is something so comforting about sharing food with family especially when it is a snack as delicious as kachoris. We chatted and laughed as we ate and it ended up being a sweet little bonding moment.
Then i decided to spend some time on my studies. I reviewed what we had covered in class earlier and practiced a few additional coding exercises. It always feels good to stay on top of things especially when you are passionate about what you are learning and the extra practice is going to come in handy for the upcoming assignments.
As the evening started passing i took some time to relax. I watched Shahveer Jaffery youTube videos and they made me laugh because they were very funny videos based on real content. It was the perfect way to get relaxed after such a full day.
