🍂Family:-
The family of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is known as the Hashimi family after his great grandfather Hashim bin Abd Manaf. Therefore, it seems appropriate to present a brief history of Hashim and some of his descendants.
- Hashim: We have already mentioned that when a reconciliation was reached between Banu Abd Manaf and Banu Abd al-Dar on the distribution of positions, Hashim was the only one among the descendants of Abd Manaf who was given the position of Siqayyah and Rifaadah, that is, the position of providing water to the pilgrims and hosting them.
Hashim was very respected and wealthy. He was the first person to arrange for the pilgrims to be fed soup, bread and salad in Mecca. His real name was Amr, but he came to be called Hashim because he used to break bread and mix it in the soup, because Hashim means the one who breaks it.
However, this is Hashim who was the first person to establish two annual trade trips for the Quraysh, summer and winter.
The poet says about him:
Amr al-Dhi Hashim al-Tharid for his people
A people in Mecca, thin and weak
Sunnah il-Ilah rah-i-ta'l-Kalahamma
Safar al-Sha'tar wa'l-Rahlat al-Asyaf
"This Amr is the one who fed his people, who were suffering from famine, with bread in Mecca, soaked in broth and cooked, and laid the foundation for both winter and summer trips."
One of his important events is that he went to Syria for trade. On the way to Medina, he married Salmi bint Amr, a woman from the Banu Najjar tribe, and stayed there for a few days.
Then, leaving his pregnant wife in Mecca, he left for Syria and died there in the city of Gaza in Palestine. Meanwhile, Salmi gave birth to a child.
This was in 497 AD. Since the child had white hair on his head, Salmi named him Shaybah and raised him in his own home in Yathrib. Later, this child became known as Abdul Muttalib.
For a long time, no one from Hashim's family knew of his existence.
Hashim had a total of four sons and five daughters, whose names are as follows:
Sons: - Asad, Abu Saifi, Nadla, Abdul Muttalib.
Daughters: - Shifa, Khalida, Zaeifa, Ruqayya, Jannata .....
