Hello, my dear Steemian friends. The photo I'm presenting in this contest is extremely significant to me since it holds a particular place in my heart. You may wonder what is the reason for that. Yes, I will explain right now.
I am a mother of two boys, my elder son is married and my younger one has moved to the United Kingdom to pursue a PhD Degree in engineering.
Last September 21, 2024, in the evening, my daughter-in-law was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo for baby delivery. On the morning of September 22, she delivered a baby boy. I was there with them at the time, but since her parents were with them, I returned to my house, leaving my grandson in their care.
My husband and I went to my son's house on September 23rd to prepare our newborn baby's room because they were scheduled to be discharged that afternoon. While my husband cleaned the outside, I cleaned the inside with Dettol, ensuring that the room was germ-free. Next, I wanted to decorate the room to show our joy and happiness in welcoming him into our lives.
While I was decorating the room, my husband also joined with me to make my work easier. We started by arranging their main bed with soft, comfortable bedsheets and pillowcases. We then use balloons and crepe papers to decorate the room’s entranceway.
I then adorned the baby cot with colorful crepe papers. As a grandmother, I was filled with love and excitement as I decorated with each colorful crepe paper strip. This small cot, beautifully decorated, reminded me of his new beginning and how blessed I am to be a part of it.
This beautifully decorated photograph of the baby cot, not only represents his new life but also a significant milestone in my life as a grandmother.
When I see this photo in the future, it will remind us of the day we welcomed our first grandson into our family. So why isn’t it the most important photograph in our lives?
