I will be proposing on the motion that says" Should schools teach financial literacy as a mandatory subject?"

Yes there is great need for schools to teach financial literacy as a mandatory subject!

But before I continue with the reasons why schools need to teach financial literacy, let me tell us what financial literacy means.

Financial literacy: It can simply be referred to as depth knowledge and understanding about financial principles and skills and their application. Financial literacy enables individuals to be able the make informed decisions, budget well and also manage their financial resources skillfully and efficiently.

My reasons for proposing the motion are as follows;

Firstly, Lack of financial literacy has done more harm than good to alot of family, community and the world at large. Therefore it is important to teach financial literacy in our schools today in order for the younger generation to be able to correct all the errors that our parents have made regarding finances.

secondly, The student will be well knowledged about the financial challenges they are going to face in the real world, making them prepare and ready to face those challenges without much anxiety and fear of becoming self insufficient.

Thirdly, It will help the students to cultivate good savings habits and reduce spending unnecessarily knowing the negative effects of over spending. The students will grow up to become good managers of both corporate and personal finances which will in turn, result to economic growth of the nation.

In conclusion:
The importance of financial literacy and the needs for it to be taught in school cannot be overemphasized. There is no organization, State, or even nation that can function well without proper management of its finances. Finance is the back bone of every organization, institution and Nation.

And this proper management of financial resources can only be enhanced if the introduce financial literacy as a subject in our school,, so that the leaders of tomorrow (Students) will acquire knowledge about finances and be able to handle and manage the nation resources effectively and efficiently. Making the right decisions and investing in businesses that matters.

I hope with this few points of my, I have been able to convince you about the importance of financial literacy and why it should be taught in school as a mandatory subject.

Thank you all for reading through my post 🥰🥰

I will like to invite my fellow steemians @lhorgic, @pandora2010 and @josepha to join this contest in this community today and share their participation as well.
