INTRODUCTION

As the regular saying goes " No man is an Island", which means no man can survive on his or her own, we all need someone we can count on in times of troubles and someone who has our best interest at heart. There are many definitions of friends but I'll choose to define mine this way; " A friend is someone who forms part of our everyday life, they are the spice added to our lives, they are pillars of support after family". Well, everybody and anybody cannot be our friend, I believe we all have criteria for choosing our friends. Two cannot work together except they agree so I strongly believe that our friends are not too far from us attitude wise.

According to you, what is the value of Friendship?

There is a lot of importance of friends because we all need someone to lean on, our friends serve as pillars of support, They are our source of strength and motivation when we are down. They are people that add spice to our lives and lighten up our day. They also serve as a source of inspiration to us. They are also people sincerely rooting for our success and eventually form part of our success stories.

Do you believe we can share various things with friends that we can't share with our blood relations? Justify your answer!

Yes, but there is a restriction to that and the restriction is based on how cordial the relationship is and the level of trust built overtime. Most times our friends tend to know us better than our family, because growing up we tend to spend more time outside than home because of schooling or work. My justification is the fact that most friends are alike in character and attitude and have a lot of similarities and will not be judgmental to their friends but blood relations may want to point out the fault but friends with similar attitude will definitely not point out the mistake but find a way around it.
Friends tend to keep our secret than our families because most times friends are always of the same age grade and share a lot in common. It is easier to open up to a non judgemental person than to open up to someone that will judge you, spot out your mistake and correct you because of fear.

Share about your first close friend and mention whether you are still in touch or not!

My first friend is Emediong, we attended the same nursery and primary school, secondary school and university, so definitely over ten years of friendship and still counting. Yes, we are still very much in touch but due to the fact that we had different aspirations we both study different courses and are on different campus of the same university but the slightest opportunity we get, we meet and tie our knot stronger.

Do you have any memorable incident with your friend? Share!

Yes, we have a lot of memories we've built over the years from nursery school till date but I'll share the experience on my birthday. She pulled a surprise party for me, we went to a recreational center, we went swimming and she assisted me because she could swim perfectly.

CONCLUSION

Over the years I've made a lot of amazing friends outside family and they are really of great benefits to me and I do not regret our path crossed. Though some we tend to cut ties because we were no longer compatible and I later became so selective with my friends because you just have something positive to offer.
Thank you for reading my thoughts on friendship I really appreciate you 😊 and I hope you enjoyed this beautiful piece.
I invite @zekanem, @rexzitek and @imadear to participate in this contest.
