Symmetry in mathematics is captivating in a way that so powerful, because symmetry proved to be prevalent in the fundamentals of different areas of mathematics. Geometry could not have been solved without the presence of symmetry, and in algebra, observing this symmetry is often unexpected and exquisite.

The geometry of symmetrical figures and shapes has the inherent aspect of the balance that they are graced with. Nowthink the circle for example , its rotational symmetry is easily visible becuase of its infinite rotational degree- Turns right or left, it will be the same. This idea further applies to polygons too, regular polygons, particularly, which have quite unique symmetries that can be easily described.

Algebra consists of use of equations and functions in its discussion of symmetry. The attraction of a symmetrical equation lies in its capability to be changed but not the structure. As for example a quadratic equation often has symmetrical solutions, namely two of them: the axis of symmetry is spanning them across.

Besides its conventional aspects, symmetry enlightens philosophical and psychological viewpoints too. It means the concert and the harmony from which comes the life, as it is reflected by the same harmony in nature. Today, no matter whether it is about the petals of a flower or the very structure of a crystal it seems like symmetry is the key to our universe.

In sum, symmetry in mathematics has a twofold nature: on the one hand, it is a useful tool to deal with shapes and equations, and on the other hand symmetry is a concept which not only reflects order and regularity, but also highlights the cosmos in its own form.
