Hello steemian friends, this week's challenge invites us to do traditional games with children, of course playing is a fun thing, besides that we can give more attention to children. Today, me and Mikyal (8 years old) will play one of the traditional games in our area, namely hitting wooden sticks.

🙋‍♂️ What is the name of the traditional game you chose? Explain in your own words how to play. 2 points

Currently in my neighborhood children like to play hitting wooden sticks, the game of hitting wooden sticks is very simple, we can put two wooden sticks on the floor or table then we clap our hands around the wooden sticks, besides that we can also do it by flicking the wooden sticks in the direction we want.

By patting or hitting it, the stick will be pushed by the wind so that it can jump in the specified direction, then the stick will hit the wooden stick of the opposing player, the player who first succeeds in pushing their wooden stick into the opponent's wooden stick is considered the winner.

Currently, this wooden stick game is often played by children during school breaks, one of them is my friend's son named Mikyal, so far he has often joked and spoiled with me today he tried to challenge me to play wooden sticks. I am willing to serve him and we will see who will be the winner?

🙅‍♂️ What are your rules? Do you make changes to the rules as you see fit? 1 point

To make this game more interesting and fun I made some rules, the first rule is that the stick is free to be played in three ways, namely by hitting, patting, or by flicking the wooden stick.

I also made changes to the game, usually the losing student would pay with another wooden stick that they had, I said that should not be done because it contains the nature of gambling. So, I told the children that if they lose, there must be a punishment, so we chose the easiest and simplest punishment which is flicking the fingers.

Mikyal loses the game he receives a punishment 👆

🧜‍♂️ From the characteristics of traditional games we have discussed, which one do you think is present in the traditional game you have chosen? 1 point

The wooden stick game I think is part of the marbles game as discussed in the characteristics of traditional games in this course, the essence of the marbles game is to throw marbles to hit other players' marbles. So the marbles game is the same as the wooden stick game, the goal is to hit the other player's wooden stick.

🤷‍♂️ Did the kids have fun? Share your experience playing with them in this traditional game. Feel free to tell us the best moment you had during the activity. 4 Points

Photo after the game ended, we both felt happy and pleased and ended the game in peace.👆

Obviously we both really enjoyed this game and we both felt good about what we had done. I would like to tell you a bit about my experience playing wooden sticks with Mikyal, in the early rounds of the game he was always losing which made his face look anxious, then he repeatedly changed his wooden sticks in the hope of increasing the chances of winning.

This made me smile at his behavior, even though the factor of defeat was not because of the wooden sticks he used but because of the lack of tricks he used.

One of my cheating tricks was that I pushed the table cloth a little so that the wooden stick had an empty gap to hit, so I just pushed the wooden stick with a predetermined force so that it could hit the opponent's stick.

Unfortunately, until I did this several times he did not realize the cheating I was doing, because his face was getting nervous I then changed the pattern of the game to relent more. Eventually this managed to make him smile a little happily.

In my opinion, the best moment was when I gave him the opportunity to win more, when he smiled and was happy I felt happy too. Eventually our game became more balanced, this was a pleasant best moment for both of us.

Finally, after we finished playing, I reminded Mikyal not to play wooden sticks in a way that contains a type of gambling, such as the loser must pay with money or the loser must pay by giving the wooden sticks they have. All of these actions can be sinful and are prohibited in our religion.
