“Time is of the essence” my green friend! We need to “Fly” if we are going to make it to “Slumbering Bear” and back before dark today!” 😇
With the Late Fall/early Winter days getting shorter, Silvertop’s Solar electric production is slowing down……….
That’s not the only thing affected by the much shorter days…………..
Silvertop’s daylight hours for hiking are getting shorter as well!😮
“Slumbering Bear” trail is high above the ridge top that I have been hiking recently.
After climbing up steep trails initially, the trail takes a quick drop into a “Darker” section of the forest!
At lower elevations, you can still see some Fall color.
Not so on Slumbering Bear ………….😮
You definitely need to watch the time of day hiking this trail, and also double check for that you are carrying your canister of Bear spray!🙄🐻
Bears like this gloomy section of the forest for hibernation. This is also the section of trail that a couple of years ago the bark on several trees was shredded!😺
Cougars and Bears tend to have a mutual understanding that they leave each other alone…………..
I always hope they feel the same way about Silvertop!😇
I have read that cougars are technically the top “Alpha” animal, but usually if given the choice between “ Fight or flight” they tend to prefer the latter!
That’s a very good thing, given that they have “razor blades” on all four feet!😳
“PEPE, we need to start back for home, it will be dark soon, and we don’t want PEPE, or Silvertop on anyone’s dinner menu today Lol!😺
