One of the most invasive plants I have come across, is bamboo !😲
Silvertop has been fighting this plant for years!
I can hear some of the gardeners out there now……………😇
Yes, bamboo can be beautiful but………….
These plants have a root system that spreads underground.
You can remove a clump of plants, and later in the year, 35 feet away, a new Bamboo plant will emerge!😳
When Silvertop lived in Colorado, I learned that Aspen trees grow exactly the same way as Bamboo.
A forest of Aspens are considered one plant!
Now for some Silvertop trivia…………..
Where, and what is considered the largest living organism?🤔
Answer: The Aspen Forest in the Gunnison National Forest, crossing from Kebler Pass and continuing over to Aspen Colorado!😊
It is massive, and truly majestic!
Back to that Bamboo…………
I made progress removing a large clump of Bamboo that has been in the way, and spreading Lol!
Don’t try this at home guys, this is the hard way to get good @actifit fitness steps!😅
All morning I worked removing this plant………..
It’s like trying to shovel out hundreds of roots that are concreted in the ground Lol!😬
Victory!!!🤗
By 2:30 my wheelbarrow was overflowing with the root system of this Bamboo plant!
Who needs a hike………😇
Latte number two, but who’s counting Lol!🤣
I noticed in the fourth photo that I took hiking up to the trailhead, that Bamboo is circling around this old tree stump!🤔
See guys, it probably sent out roots from Silvertop’s home Lol!🤣😇

For the moment, we have entered into a stretch of dry sunny days!

I was working all day in a T shirt, but I packed two sweatshirts for my hike…………
The weather can change quickly in the Mountains!🥶
I climbed higher, and soon realized I wasn’t going too far uphill today.
Silvertop was spent!😅
Liz will beat me home, the Sun is setting, I’m more than ready for Latte number three……….
But who’s counting Lol!🤣
