"I wish I had my own secret garden too."

I've read "The Secret Garden,"
Not with my eyes, but with my ears...

As I listened to "The Secret Garden," I found myself longing for something similar in my heart. I pondered whether I've ever had such a hidden sanctuary throughout my life.

More than just a children's fairy tale, it feels like a novel that soothes and nurtures the hearts of wounded or weary adults. It seems like a story that rekindles unfulfilled dreams of adults and instills hope in life.

I must listen to it again, but it felt comforting. It's said to be one of Frances Hodgson Burnett's three major works, alongside "Little Lord Fauntleroy" and "A Little Princess." Although it may sound prejudiced, to children, it seems like an incredibly long novel.

As I listened, I sometimes felt akin to Mary, sometimes I aspired to be like Dickon, and other times I wished to embody Colin, standing up magnificently as the main character. Regardless, it felt uplifting to turn adults into children and share tales of hope with them.

Now, I find myself yearning to create my own secret garden, and I even wonder if I already have one. It would be peculiar if I hadn't discovered it after all these years.

If I do have one, I reminisce about the small reservoir in the backyard where we used to catch fish by tying bamboo sticks together. I also recall hoeing over the beans in the field, motivated by my mother's promise to buy me a fish tank if I helped her.

The memory of the peach tree blooming beautifully adds to my desire to create my own secret garden, especially as I watch the spring rain fall.

Thank you.
