What is plagiarism

Plagiarism is the unauthorized copying of another author's texts, ideas and expressions without acknowledging the source or returning any credit to the original author.

Types of Plagiarism

There are 4 major types of plagiarism that I managed to explain in my post

Direct Plagiarism.

Indistinguishable copying of text is a serious offense punishable by law if the original owner of the content decides to punish him. Direct plagiarism is taking identical words of another author and pasting them into your own work without changing anything and still not giving credit to the original author. Very unethical.

Mosaic Plagiarism

When an author borrows a phrase or text from a particular source material without using quotation marks or replacing some words in the content without changing the original pattern.

Self-Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism is when authors copy and paste parts of their previously published work. However, it is not a serious crime, because it does not involve other perpetrators. But isn't that the best course of action to practice?

Accidental Plagiarism

This occurs when someone does not quote the source, or accidentally paraphrases the source using words, groups of words that are identical, without reference to the original owner.

Avoid Plagiarism

always cite your sources when taking work of other authors • make sure you have a complete and developed understanding before tackling and writing on a topic

Citation Method

The rose is considered the most beautiful flower in the world, which is why it’s called the “queen of the garden.” It’s one of the most popular flowers worldwide, and it comes in different sizes and colors. source
