I have briefly described two major new functions from the Nutbox/Polkadot platform in my last post. One of the features, Crowdloan, was not enabled at the time. Therefore, I have only guessed what this page would do. Well, no need to guess any longer. The Nutbox’s development team has a new update.
Before I show the new exciting features, I’d like to talk a little bit about Corwdloan. I have made a wrong guess in my last post, which described it similar to an ICO. It was a mistake, and I have updated the previous post regarding the definition I randomly put down.
Background
Polkadot is a network of all blockchains, it allows diverse blockchains to transfer messages, regular data, and of course, our favorite crypto currencies, in a trust-free fashion, moving around multiple blockchains.
However, not every single blockchain can join the Polkdot network. A new project must participate a parachain slot auction and win the bid before authorized to connect to the network.
According to an article on Kraken:
As the current state, Polkadot can support up to 100 Parachains.
What do teams get once they secure the slot for connection? Having the foot inside the elite circle grant:
plug-and-play security, inter-communication with other chains, governance, forkless upgrades, scalability, low fees, etc.
There is a time limit on leasing a slot. Minimum/maximum durations are 6 months and 2 years, respectively.
Auction
Project team and their supporters, who hold $DOT can bond their fund to the Polkadot network for the support of the project. All crypto bonded to the project will be lock throughout the lease duration once the project wins the auction bid; and can be re-claimed once the duration ends.
That being said, for the trouble of contributors, project team may give all supporters their project’s native token via an airdrop. During the entire process, the supporters never give up their $DOT unlick traditional ICO.
OK, that’s enough of the wall of text on explaining what Polkadot is and does. Let’s talk about what’s new about Nutbox/Polkadot platform.
It looks like we would eventually have the crowdloan on both Polkadot and Kusama. Kusama and Polkadot are independent, standalone networks, who shares a similar codebase. For the user, who use KuCoin’s Pool-X, you’ll probably see a token named $KSM. It is the $DOT of Kusama.
The beta test of Crowdloan is still on Rococo, the TestNet of Polkadot. Users can click on Contribute button to support their favorite projects. Of course, in Nutbox/Polkadot platform, I would assume all projects are related to Nutbox.
Confirmation box popped up and the amount of token can be entered before clicking on Confirm & Sign button. There is a typo of the word “confirm” and typo of Nutbox (Nutobx). I have typos all the time, I was surprised I could catch them somehow...
Polkadot network requires the password to sign the transaction.
Then, voila, it’s done.
Notice that I only contribute to one of the projects. Nevertheless, two sections showed my contribution. The development team explained:
Both first and second section are actually the same project. separated by the chain. It's like delegating SP on https://peanut.nutbox.io; the delegation process is done on STEEM; but with $PNUT. The amount in the red circle is the total amount of contribution.

那么链接到Polkadot系统之后，技术团队能够过得什么？进入Polkadot群内的好处是：
即插即用的安全性、与其他链的互通、治理、无分叉升级、可扩展性、低费用等等.
租借链接Polkadot平台的权力是有时间限制的。最短/最长的时间分别为六个月到两年。
拍卖
项目团队及其支持者可以将自己的$DOT绑定到Polkdot平台，这个举动代表他们对自己将要竞标的项目的支持。一旦项目中标，所有绑定的$DOT将在这个项目租借链接的阶段内锁定；在租赁期结束之后绑定$DOT的虚拟货币持有者则可以重新认领自己绑定的$DOT。
为了报答贡献$DOT的支持者的付出，项目团队可以通过空投的方式将项目的原生代币发放给支持者。和传统ICO不同的是，整个绑定，锁定到取回自己的$DOT币的过程中，支持者不需要把自己的币移交到项目团队的手中；如果竞标失败，所有的投资都能回到原本用户的钱包。
好啦，写了很多有关Polkadot的历史和拍卖的定义。说说Nutbox/Polkadot平台的新功能吧。
通过页面，我们可以看到Polkadot 和 Kusama两个系统。据我所知，他们是两个独立的网络；拥有的相似的代码库。对于使用 KuCoin 的 Pool-X 的用户，可能会看到过一个名为 $KSM 的代币；那就是 Kusama 的 原生代币。
