Learn Chinese with Julie. Why is husband bigger and higher than sky?

We continue to work hard and learn Chinese in a fun way. I believe that spoken Chinese is really easy to grasp. The tones can be mastered over time with constant drilling exercises. But remembering chinese characters can be really a challenge for non natives and beginners. That's why I make the posts trying to give you more information and explanation that can help you to remember them faster.

Chinese Character 大 - big

In our previous lesson we learned the character 人， which means a person.

If a person stretch his hands, that means big. Try to show that something is big.

As you see from the picture, the character is very easy to remember, so next time you want to write big in Chinese, just remember this pictures.

Chinese character 天 - Sky

The sky is even bigger than the man who spreads his hands. The horizontal line above the person who shows big represents clouds ☁️. The good thing is that by learning the word sky you also learn the word day. As 天 also means day. You can look up at sky and check the day.

Chinese Character 夫 - husband

The funniest character is husband if you see character 夫。 It may look like something is even higher than the sky. But originally husband means a person with a hair pin. As in ancient china a young man reached 20 years old had to out a pin on his hair.
