Karelia is a land of stone and water. A fertile place for lovers of recreation in the bosom of nature. This is exactly what I love. But this place is 2,000 kilometers away from me. But I was going to visit this region with my children last summer. What for? It is in order to look at the water, at the stones, to see the sights and If not all of my photos from this trip contain stones, then half or more accurately.

But the combination of stone and water can be very insidious. While fishing, I slipped on a smooth stone and fell into the water, soaked my clothes and then dried near the fire. But it wasn't the worst surprise. When I fell, I leaned on the rocks with my left hand and injured my hand. The pain in the hand did not disappear for several months.

There are stones everywhere in Karelia. They came to this region with ice from the North during the global ice age. That's how you walk along a path in the forest, and there is a big stone next to the path. I know that there are many places on Earth where there are many stones, where the entire surface is one solid stone. But Karelia consists of some special stones. I am not an archaeologist and do not know the exact names of these stones.
There are cool places for excursions, for a review of these stones - a marble quarry, but this is a separate story.
