That was Silvertop’s day Lol!😅
So I decided to have you follow this big arrow in the third photo……….
Do you see the dairy farmer on the tractor up ahead, he’s going back to his barn……..

Silvertop wanted to show you some of these hand built structures!🤗
Weather in the Pacific Northwest can take its toll on these beautiful Barns!😮
Many were built over one hundred years ago, with hand tools, not the power tools of today!
The first gray barn is my neighbor Tim’s barn. He owns the off grid cabin that we hike past on most days!😊
Today Mr Bear had this trail all to himself Lol!😇
Tim’s barn was built with hand hewn support beams, cut from old clear grain Douglas Fir!
Even if you wanted lumber like this, it can’t be had…….
It is long gone!😲
Silvertop has Douglas Fir beams in his house, Liz and Silvertop personality lifted and placed these beams by hand!😅
They are a beautiful light golden color………..
Above my wood stove I have a dark golden Fir wood mantle …………
That my friends is the difference, old growth Douglas Fir Timbers have this dark golden color!😊
Either way they are very beautiful, and they add to the “Mountain cabin” look!☺️
You can see that the original settlers had a certain style of Barn that they were partial to!😇
The second to last is what all these barns are being used for…………
Dairy Cows!😊
