Hey Steemit!

Now that a lot of people here have already gotten vaccinated, I'm very happy to hear that Singapore is now allowing in-house dining again, and now they've eased up on restrictions so that group dining is possible too! But for convenience, we tend to order takeaways from nearby places since we can eat in the comfort of our own home.

So the other day Sean and I went out for a midnight walk and enjoyed the cool weather and tranquility of our neighbourhood at night. There's just something about the night that seems so much more peaceful. There's no sun and also less people out and about so there's really no downside at least for us night owls.
Anyway, we notice there's a hawker center still open in our neighbourhood past midnight so we went for supper after taking our walk!

Only 3 stalls were open at the time; the drinks stall, a noodle stall and this Indian food stall called Habib's Express!

Since prata is a classic supper dish and we weren't super hungry, we decided to try and see if this stall's prata is nice. They actually didn't have most of their dishes available at the time other than prata and mee goreng if I recall correctly.

We ordered 2 plain prata and got it freshly made on the spot! If you've never tried it before, prata is an Indian flatbread dish common in Southeast Asia. It is usually served with dal or other types of curry, but can also be cooked in a range of sweet or savoury variations made with a variety of ingredients such as meat, egg, or cheese.

It was really yummy! The prata was hot and slightly crispy but still spongy and the curry was a nice side dish to dip it in too! It had just the right amount of spice and was perfect!

It was a very delicious supper and since then we've actually tried different dishes from this stall too. One of my favourite Indian dishes is Chicken Biryani which is a mixed rice dish made with Indian spices, rice, and some type of meat, and sometimes eggs and potatoes.

And we actually did try the Chicken Biryani from this stall for dinner a few times and it did not disappoint! It's a little pricey but for how big the portion size is I'd say it's worth it! There's a lot of rice and a decently-sized chicken drumstick and a hard boiled egg.

image.png

And of course it also comes with a side of curry! I think this is the same curry that came with the prata which works well with the biryani rice too!

The Chicken Biryani is always so satisfying and filling every time I crave Indian food. The special mixed rice they make is so delicious and tasty with the right amount of spice.

The other dish we tried from this stall is called Mee Goreng; a stir-fried noodle dish with garlic, onions, eggs, vegetables and/or meat.

Their mee goreng is quite different compared to Chinese mee goreng though since it's really red and quite spicy. I'm not sure what kind of sauce they use; it's probably one of their spicier dishes but it's so deliciously tasty too!

I think these dishes here are probably my favourite dishes from Indian cuisine! Even though Mee Goreng is not typically an Indian dish, their take on it is quite unique and yummy too! This stall is definitely my go-to for Indian food for sure! Maybe we'll try their other dishes here in the future!

Thanks so much for reading!
