Taking Nadi (my dog) to the bar!

Nadi is a big hit in the community that I currently live in. All of the places around here tend to allow you to bring your animals into the establishment with you and for the most part this doesn't end up getting out of control. I will admit that there are times when I have been in places where too many people have brought their dogs and it starts to seem more like a zoo than a restaurant and when this happens I will normally take my dog away.

Unfortunately Nadi doesn't get along with other dogs very well and her tail will not be wagging if other dogs are around. She just doesn't like other animals and I guess I'm a little disappointed about this but she is too old now for me to change this. She definitely likes people though and most people end up liking her as well. We saw this the other night at my local watering hole when the people were a lot more excited to see her than they were me.

My friend watched after my dog while I went down the street to go get a sandwich and Nadi is the kind of dog that if you put her on a chair, she will stay there and not get off of it unless instructed to do so. I'm guessing that while I was gone that someone on the other side of the bar had some food and she is begging at this point.

Ever since the bone-swallowing incident I have instructed everyone to not give her anything to eat, just to be safe, and I would imagine that this kind of breaks her little doggy heart every time it happens. Whatever! She gets over it and just continues to accept "rubbies" on her back and head instead.

While taken a while ago, this is the reason why I take her with me when I go somewhere whenever I can

I've got this chair right next to the entrance to my apartment and this is where she will sit and give me this sad look anytime I try to leave the place without her. She cares not where I am going.... all that she knows is that she wants to come along as well. The times that I do leave her there I think it makes her really sad and it doesn't matter if I am gone for 4 minutes or 4 hours, the reaction to my return is always the same one of intense excitement!

Since my friends and the staff at these places really don't mind that she comes with me, I don't see any reason to not bring her along.
