This set of photos was taken by the Deep Space Climate Observing Satellite (DSCOVR) of the United States from November 21 to 27, 2022, recording seven days of changes in China and the Asian region. The satellite is located at Lagrange point L1, about 1.5 million kilometers away from us!

🔍 The knowledge point has arrived! The DSCOVR satellite has been monitoring the solar wind since its launch in February 2015, which is crucial for our weather forecasting. If there is no warning from DSCOVR, geomagnetic storms may damage our power grid, telecommunications, aviation, and GPS systems.

🌐 The L1 orbit is a special point between the Earth and the Sun, located approximately 1.61 million kilometers away from Earth. Here, DSCOVR can provide a 15 to 60 minute advance warning for coronal mass ejections (CMEs), helping us better predict the impact of geomagnetic storms.
