In a local setting, I came across a situation where a woman has 7 children and is currently pregnant with another one. The fact is that she is unemployed and has to farm and do other menial jobs to barely put food on the table. The father of this family is a fisherman who works in a Riverrine area and barely comes home. The children are just suffering because of these effects. In this post, let's see how to curb this issue.

My Understanding about Family Planning

For me, I see family planning as a way in which children are planned so that resources will be available to cater for them. Imagine a situation whereby a family has the ability to cater for 4 children but end up producing about 11 children. In that case, we can see the family will end up in abject poverty. At times, they might be running for help to run the family. But the reality is that they brought the calamity to themselves.

Do I think countries should regulate their population using Family Planning?

Countries that have the potential of family planning on its policy will realize that they will be on the winning side. So, I see a great reason why countries should enable family planning to regulate their population. As I said earlier about a family who has more heads than what they can cater for, that's the same issue with countries of the world. If the economy of the country can't cater for the citizens, the poverty rate of that area stays on the increasing side.

Do I encourage Family Planning?

There's a postulation one of my lecturers made some time ago in his Lectures. In his words, he said "procreating more children can help in building or trapping an empire". For me, I don't see it from that point of view that he saw. Rather, this massive procreation rate will only spike up the rate of crimes in society. Imagine a father who has more children to cater for but he's unemployed. One of his options is to indulge in antisocial vices so that a living can be made.

Types of Family Planning I know of

For this reason of this contest, I'll go with hormonal control which blocks the reproductive organs preventing any new intake. Another is permanent methods like vasectomy which blocks it forever.

I invite @bossj23, @nsijoro and @pandora2010 to this contest.
