Did you know that the word Squirrel comes from a Greek word Skiouros which means Shadow-tail.

However, their scientific names depends on the specific species. For example;

TypeScientific name
Eastern Gray SquirrelSciurus carolinensis
American Red SquirrelTamiasciurus hudsonicu
Eastern Fox SquirrelSciurus niger

Each species of squirrel has a unique scientific classification based on their genetic and physical characteristics.

This is my entry for this competition;https://steemit.com/hive-147599/@benton3/winners-for-week-30-or-or-week-31-begins-let-s-do-it-do-it-yourself-drawing

So let's check out how I made the drawing
The tools I use were; charcoal, 2B pencil, HB pencil, eraser and a Sharpener.
My charcoal pencil needed a replacement, so I used the charcoal.

In the first clip by your left, is a thin line sketch that I made using the HB pencil.
I often do this in case of any mistake,so I can erase it easily.
The next clip by you right is a shade of the background. I used the charcoal to get this outcome.

Moving on, In these two clips , I started giving details to the facial features of my squirrel, also shading the furs at it's back
The one on the left is after I was through with the shading of the tail . And also creating blurry lights in the background. That ,I used eraser to create.

In this clip , I was through with the whole body of the squirrel. I also completed the shading of the wood log.

In this final Clip, all I did was just to add my water mark and user name.

Have you seen one before

Yeah sure. Plenty of times. We even hunt and eat them as meat. But this happens mostly at the rural areas. Although we also find them here in the urban area.
I don't have my original image. But you can search the word Squirrel in your browsers . And you'll see different images of it.

What does it look like and does it have any economic importance to humanity?

What they look likeA squirrel is a small to medium-sized rodent with a long bushy tail and furry body. They typically have large eyes and a pointed snout. They are very argil and can move quickly. This feature help them escape predators .Squirrels are known for their agility and quick movements, able to run, jump, and climb trees with ease. They also have strong sense of balance. They are often seen foraging for nuts and seeds to store for the winter. Like I said before, Squirrels are commonly found in forests, parks, and urban areas, where they can be seen darting around trees and scampering along the ground.
Economic importanceSquirrels play vital role in their ecosystems because by dispersing seeds and nuts as they bury them for later consumption, they helps with the process of plant regeneration and growth. I also made mention of it serving as a food sources. Yes, squirrels are also a source of food for various predators which helps to maintain a balanced ecosystem.
