Graptophyllum pictum, the caricature-plant, is a shrub in the family of Acanthaceae. It’s native to New Guinea, also a well-known garden shrub with two known varieties: the variegated color one is known as 'white adulsa', & is used combined with coconut water to reduce swelling. The dark-leaved variety is known with trade name 'black adulsa' in India which has been used as traditional medicine as contraceptive, delivery aid; to treat wound swelling, ulcers, abscesses, haemorrhoids, renal impairments, rheumatism, urinary infection, scabies, hepatomegaly, ear diseases & as fertility enhancer.
