Cyber Mission, an upcoming title by PSCD Games, will be launching on Kickstarter soon giving fans a chance to help make this game a reality. Fans of 2D side scrolling arcade action games will surely feel right at home with Cyber Mission. Let’s discuss those differences though.

Inspiration Comes from Many Places

Pulling inspiration from a title like Forgotten Worlds can be a good thing. The main similarity is the playable character in each. Right now, Cyber Mission’s character doesn’t have a lot of, well, character to him. The version shown in the video is an early build and are not final.

Just like Forgotten Worlds, Cyber Mission has your character flying around the screen blasting things coming at them. That is pretty much where the similarities end, for now, they could be back as the game develops.

Now About Those Differences

Forgotten Worlds had you facing off against biomechanical monstrosities. Cyber Mission has you fighting more industrial style enemies and fewer human looking ones.

Cyber Mission, so far, has you fighting huge buildings that are well fortified, like the first boss in Contra. Forgotten Worlds had us taking on oversized enemies that appeared to be gods of some sort in the game world.

It will be interesting to compare the final version of Cyber Mission against the Sega Genesis version of Forgotten Worlds.

Right now, PSCD Games are planning to launch a Kickstarter for Cyber Mission. PSCD Games are no stranger to crowdfunding their projects, nor are they scared to foot the bill for failed Kickstarter projects either.

If you are a fan of old school arcade action games, then you will probably enjoy Cyber Mission on the Sega Genesis. I know I am going to be watching this one closely as I am a fan of this style game.
