The communities idea is interesting too - the URL works within communities already (replacing "trending" with "promoted" - although most communities are empty in this regard).

I never fully understood why some of the bigger communities never challenged me for the top of the page, but I'm sure that part of it was because no one lands on /promoted without seeking it out. Making it the landing page would definitely make it more valuable as a piece of screen real estate.

I think the answer's as simple as that. It would definitely get more traffic if one of the sc accounts (could be one of sc04-sc08 (@o1eh 😉)) started visiting more frequently although the risk then is that it becomes a vote-buying scheme which is no better than a bid-bot. Although it would be better than a bid-bot. Hopefully you understand what I'm getting at!
